The Portuguese competent authority, under the terms of Article 8, to issue the laissez-passer for a corpse is, in Portugal, the head office of the Public Security Police or, in the absence of such an authority, the local Town Hall; in such cases, the "laissez-passer" must be visaed by the local health authority.

Slovakia:
Declaration contained in a Note verbale from the Permanent Representation of Slovakia, dated 26 November 2007, registered at the Secretariat General on 28 November 2007 - Or. Fr.
In accordance with Article 8 of the Agreement, the Slovak Republic declares that the competent authorities to issue the Laissez-passer for a corpse are:
a) the competent medicine officer of the regional authority, in cases of an international transfer of corpses following their decease.
b) the competent regional office for public health, in cases of an international transfer of exhumated corpses, the transfer of a person deceased following a contagious disease or in an exceptional epidemiologic situation, and of a transfer of deceased persons whose cause of death was the heavy dose of ionizing radiations.
Regarding the autopsy of a foreign citizen who died on the territory of the Slovak Republic, the Laissez-passer for a corpse is delivered, in co-operation with the regional office for public health, by the competent centre for forensic medicine and anatomical pathology (The lists of regional offices for public health and of the medicine officers are available here).

Spain:

Spain declares that the competent authority for the purposes of Article 8 shall be the health authority attached to the external health services of the place where the customs formalities connected with the transfer of the body were carried out.

In accordance with Article 8 of the Agreement on the Transfer of Corpses (ETS No. 80) that the competent Swedish authority in view of Article 3, paragraph 1, Article 5 and Article 6, paragraphs 1 and 3 of the said Agreement has changed to "the tax authority (in Swedish: Skattemyndigheten) which received notification of the death", and in French, "le service des impots (en suedois: Skattemyndigheten) auquel le deces a ete declare".
