Настоящий Протокол не затрагивает прав и обязательств государств Сторон, вытекающих из других международных договоров, участниками которых они являются.
Статья 5
Споры и разногласия между Сторонами относительно толкования и (или) применения положений настоящего Протокола разрешаются путем переговоров между Сторонами.
Статья 6
Настоящий Протокол вступает в силу с даты получения последнего письменного уведомления, которым Стороны сообщат по дипломатическим каналам о выполнении внутригосударственных процедур, необходимых для вступления в силу настоящего Протокола.
Совершено в Анкаре 6 августа 2009 года в двух экземплярах, каждый на русском, турецком и английском языках, причем все тексты имеют одинаковую силу. В случае возникновения разногласий при толковании положений настоящего Протокола используется текст на английском языке.

PROTOCOL
BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY
ON COOPERATION IN THE GAS SPHERE
(Ankara, 6.VIII.2009)
The Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Turkey, hereinafter referred to individually as the Party and collectively as the Parties,
Being guided by the Joint Declaration on Deepening of Friendship and Multifaceted Partnership between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey of 6 December 2004 and the Joint Declaration on Progress towards a New Stage in Relations and Further Deepening of Friendship and Multifaceted Partnership between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey of 13 February 2009,
Based on the Treaty on the Principles of Relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey of 25 May 1992,
In order to enhance the efficiency of cooperation in the gas sphere based on the Agreement between the Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on Russian Natural Gas Supplies from the USSR to the Republic of Turkey of 18 September 1984, the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on Cooperation in the Energy Sector of 15 December 1997 and the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on Russian Natural Gas Supplies to the Republic of Turkey across the Black Sea Water Area of 15 December 1997,
Acknowledging the need for assessing the building of gas pipeline system across the Black Sea water area for natural gas supplies from the Russian Federation to the Republic of Turkey and via Turkey to other destinations,
Agreed as follows:
Article 1
The Parties agree that the respective Parties to the Natural Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement dated 14 February 1986 shall extend the said Agreement under mutually agreed terms and conditions equal to the volumes determined by the Agreement between the Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on Russian Natural Gas Supplies from the USSR to the Republic of Turkey of 18 September 1984 at most in one year after the signature of this Protocol.
Article 2
The Parties before 1 November 2010 shall provide all necessary conditions and permissions for unimpeded construction of a new gas pipeline across the Black Sea water area for natural gas supplies from the Russian Federation based on results of feasibility study.
To this end, the Turkish Party, in particular, will provide, before 1 November 2009, issuance upon request of a company authorized by Open Joint-Stock Company Gazprom, of
